Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to read this site, ask for a roof survey and understand a quote. This page explains what we aim for, where we may fall short and how to tell us.

This statement covers the Supreme Roofing Stroud website. We are a roofing contractor working across Stroud and the surrounding Gloucestershire towns, and a roof repair is rarely planned. People often arrive on this site worried, on a phone and in a hurry, so clear pages and a form that works for everyone matter to us.

The standard we work to

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. These are the international guidelines for making web content usable by people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive differences. This is an aim and an ongoing effort, not a certificate. We have not had the site audited by an independent accessibility body, and we do not claim full conformance.

What we have done

The site is built with these points in mind.

  • Structure. Each page has one main heading and sub-headings in order, so screen reader users can jump between sections.
  • Contrast. Text and background colours are chosen to give strong contrast, and we check key pages against the AA ratios.
  • Text size. Text resizes with your browser settings, and pages are designed to reflow on a narrow screen without sideways scrolling.
  • Keyboard use. Links, menus and buttons can be reached and used without a mouse, with a visible focus outline.
  • Images. Photographs carry a short text description. Purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Tables. Cost tables use proper header cells, so a screen reader can read each figure alongside its row and column label.
  • Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site follows that request.

The enquiry form and the map

The enquiry form is a third-party embed supplied by a customer relationship management service, so we control its content but not all of its code. We have tried to label its fields clearly, but we cannot promise every part behaves perfectly with every screen reader or voice-control tool.

The maps on our area pages use tiles from OpenStreetMap. A map is a visual aid and is hard to use without sight, so every area page also states in words the distance and direction from Stroud.

You never need the form or a map to reach us. Phone 01453 933613, send a WhatsApp message or email info@supremeroofingstroud.co.uk, and we will take the same details from you directly. If you would like to describe your roof by voice, a phone call is the easiest route. If you want a quote in a particular format, such as larger print, ask and we will do our best to provide it.

Known limits

We are aware of some areas where the site may fall short of AA.

  • Some older photographs may have shorter descriptions than they deserve.
  • The embedded form may not always honour the colour settings or text spacing you have chosen in your browser.
  • Documents we send you, such as a quote or a guarantee certificate, may be sent as PDF files. If a PDF does not work with your software, we can send the same content in the body of an email.

We are working through these as part of reviewing the site.

Report a problem or ask for another format

If you find something that is hard to use, or you cannot get information you need, please tell us. Contact us by email at info@supremeroofingstroud.co.uk, by phone on 01453 933613 or by WhatsApp. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and mention the device or assistive technology if you can.

Our own target is to reply within five working days. If the barrier is on a page, we will fix it where we can and tell you when. If we cannot, we will give you the information another way.

If you are not happy with our response

If you raise an accessibility problem and feel we have not dealt with it properly, our complaints procedure applies. Under the Equality Act 2010, businesses that provide services must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and Citizens Advice can explain those rights. Our contact page lists every way to reach us.

This accessibility statement is a starting point and should be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser, alongside an independent accessibility check, before it is relied on.
